Savvy suppliers have documentation to hand

For suppliers tendering regularly, having a tender content library is essential. This should comprise standard tendering documents such as a company organisational chart, financial accounts and statements, insurance certificates, accreditation documents, company policies covering health and safety, environmental sustainability and equality, staff biographies and references.

Having a tender content library will make each submission less time-consuming and less stressful, particularly as many calls for tender come with a short time-frame for their completion.

Retaining previous tender submissions is also useful as they can be re-used for future proposals, albeit modified to the particular circumstances of the contract competition and the precise needs of the procuring organisation.

For most suppliers, it is simply not practical to start anew on each and every tender. Indeed, it is advisable to draft proposals on the basis of commonly identified questions, regulatory requirements and obligatory documentation and to subsequently use these as proposal templates.
